A Quiet Afternoon
Streets dozing through the afternoon heat, photographed between errands.

There is a version of the city that only appears between two and four in the afternoon. Shot across one February, this project collects its stillness: closed shutters, parked wheels, hand-painted signs, and people waiting for the heat to pass.
The heat empties the streets by early afternoon. What is left is shade, signage, and the occasional person who has somewhere to be regardless of the weather.
I photographed most of this roll on walks that had no destination. The afternoon decides the route anyway.
