The Places We Leave Behind
Roads, fields, and the edges of the city — places that stay with you after you leave.

Some places ask to be photographed twice: once when you arrive, and once when you know you are leaving. This is a slow record of the outskirts — fields, roads and quiet horizons on the edges of Hyderabad, made over trips that had no agenda beyond paying attention.
Most of these frames were made within an hour of the city, in the kind of light that arrives only at the end of the day and leaves without asking.
I keep returning to roads that go nowhere in particular. On film, the decision to press the shutter is slower — the frame has to be worth the frame.
